An Innovative Skin Camouflage Practice
Barbara (Babs) Forman founded Skin Confident in order to be able to put her unique dual qualification in both law and make-up artistry/skin camouflage to use.
She acts direct for private individuals seeking skin camouflage advice, teaches postgraduate students of the UK’s leading maxillofacial reconstruction courses, and regularly provides medico-legal reports to the top personal injury firms in the country.
Acting on both the Claimant and Defendant sides, she delivers impartial CPR 35 complaint quantum reports of the highest quality. She is keen to increase awareness of the benefits of skin camouflage and regularly holds workshops for legal professionals, and has been asked to speak at national and international industry events.
Following her legal education and Cambridge University and qualification at Allen & Overy LLP in London, Babs decided to retrain as a make-up artist at the prestigious Delamar Academy in Ealing Studios. After several years of working mainly in TV and theatre, she was drawn towards skin camouflage as a result of her own experience with burns at a younger age. She continues to be listed on the SRA’s roll of qualified (non-practicing) solicitors.
Babs is a graduate member of the British Association of Skin Camouflage, a first-tier ranked expert with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, a full member of the Expert Witness Institute, a member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and registered with the Information Commissioner.
Her work was awarded with the national Best Business Women Award 2019 for customer service, and she was recognised as an inspiring female by inclusion on the BBC’s ‘100 Women’ list in 2016. She has provided opinions on make-up and skin camouflage for national publications and has appeared on radio and TV.
Babs is able to draw upon her experience in make-up artistry and consequent product and ingredients knowledge to provide holistic treatment recommendations for her clients to deliver excellent and innovative results every time, including recommendations as to skin care and scar management where appropriate.
Babs can accept instructions from solicitors direct, or via most Medical Reporting Organisations.
