An Interview with Babs Forman
How did you get into skin camouflage?
I became interested in skin camouflage after I suffered from burns scars myself as a teenager. I spent time at the specialist burns unit and saw first-hand the devastating effect that scars can have on a person’s life. As a result, I retrained as a make-up artist to be able to help people feel more confident about their appearance.
Why should I come and see you?
During a consultation with me we will work together to find the best possible skin camouflage for you – products that will conceal your pigmentation, but not look heavy or caked on. Once you are happy with the colour match I will teach you exactly how to recreate the look. My consultations are about empowering you to go about your daily life with more confidence so I want you to go away feeling that you know exactly what to do once you get home. I have worked with every skin colour imaginable and have seen many different skin conditions so you can be sure you are in safe hands.
Will skin camouflage work for me?
Skin camouflage will conceal any skin condition that has changed the colour of your skin – either to make it noticeably lighter or darker than the rest of the skin. As long as your skin is not broken and the condition is not contagious, there is no reason why skin camouflage will not work. You will be able to conceal your pigmentation so that it blends beautifully with the surrounding skin and is much less visible. Please bear in mind that skin camouflage cannot change the texture of your skin so if it is very raised or textured in some way skin camouflage may not be able to conceal it fully, but it will still make it a lot less noticeable.
I’ve tried so many things and nothing works – how do I know that this will work?
I can understand that you may be wary. That is why I always book clients in for a free phone consultation before I do anything else, just to make sure that skin camouflage is appropriate and will be effective for you. I will only book you in if I am confident that it will work.
